ARCHIVED PROJECTS

Ronnie and I worked on many different projects together- posters, cd covers, business cards, t-shirt designs, digital
collages, and others. He was a great art director.

Here are a few...

I painted this portrait of Ronnie to be auctioned off at his memorial concert- SweetRelief.org.

"Voyager" Acrylic on canvas 2012

On this draft Ronnie did not collaborate with me- it was a something I was working on that he really liked. He adopted it and used it on and off for different things over the years. The M originally stood for Market Street, but it became symbolic for Montrose and that was more than fine with me. I personally love to see art work in the rough draft stages- much of what I will be archiving will be just that- as we had a quite a few things that were left undone for one reason or another. He had a dream for a cd project 10x10 that he talked about a lot- unfortunately it never came to fruition- he had definite ideas and beginnings for the graphics -I'll find them and post them here soon. Original Market Street Project Rough Draft

I collaborated with Ronnie on 3 t-shirt designs-we kicked around a lot of ideas but actually produced 3-...
A 1960/70's inspired spoof on the Saint- with stick figure playing the guitar. An acoustic guitar with words mapped around it, peace, love, etc.

My favorite design was the Acme t-shirt, hat and pick design

I came up with the idea of recycling the Acme theme- your not really a boomer unless you've got Acme tattooed on the bottom of your foot.

I painted this portrait of Lola as a gift. Lola was a very sweet and well behaved lil doggie.

I collaborated art work on 2 cd projects that Ronnie produced...

Website activities...

Over the years Ronnie has had a lot of different websites, and he asked me to do various things for them from time to time.

Below is a watercolor and gouache painting Ronnie purchased from me that he framed and hung over his bed. He decided to also use it as his landing page on his site had his web master adjust the eyes so when the mouse hovered over them they opened and closed.

He also had me create holiday greetings,
here are a couple of them.

Ronnie had the idea to promote visual artists by having me do a featured section on his website every month or so featuring a different artists work.

We featured a lot of amazing art
some of the artists that participated...

Deborah Colotti
Tron Bykle
Sandra Ortiz Taylor
Josh Hagler
William Brody
Kerry Shea
Dave Getz- a visual artist and original member of
Big Brother and the Holding Company

I can't remember why we developed this sketch- we worked on it for a month. Implementing small changes here and there, in the end, we aborted it. What I do like about it, is that is has Ronnie's esthetic. We both like retro, I think that is one of the reasons we worked so well together.

Watercolors utilizing cones and grids-

"It's the space between the notes"

This is a 3-d art work I made for Ronnie 2006-he kept it displayed in his music room.

A fan threw this large street sign onto the stage in the 1970's
A couple of years ago Ronnie asked me to paint it ...

Before Ronnie died he had been working on the music and art for 10x10.The above graphic was a rough draft beggining, one of many many. The CD never came to fruition however there is some of the music on tape that we hope to make available to the public via some projects with some of his old partners- a film is in the works.
